Ex-Works Jaguar 3.4 'D Type' Competition Engine
This is a genuine Jaguar 3.4 litre ex-Works Competition Engine which was prepared to D-Type Specification by the Competition Department for a private customer in the mid 50s. Shipped to Holland to be installed in a Lister the engine remained crated, brand new and unused for 30 years until purchased in the 1980s by Bryan Wingfield. Initially fitted to a Wingfield 'XKSS' it was soon taken out and stored, considered too important to use in a non-original car. It has covered just 7,000 miles from new, and its story is fully documented in an article by Paul Skilleter.
