This outstanding example of a Series I GTO came from the Italian carrozzeria of the late Mario Allegretti, of Modena, over thirty years ago. Allegretti is widely regarded as one of the best 250 GTO re-constructors, as well as a restorer of the original cars. Everything is to correct GTO specification, including the five speed gearbox, and the engine bay even features a very rare and sought after set of genuine DC38DCN Webers. Recently emerging from long-term ownership in an important Swiss collection the car has been the subject of a comprehensive service by marque experts GTO Engineering, which has included the rebuilding of the carburettors and overhaul of the brake system. In stunning condition this very authentic example is eligible for FIA HTP and ultimately historic racing.
