1950 Bentley MKVI Park Ward 6 light Sports Saloon
This ultra rare all-aluminium bodied Bentley is an exemplary example of the bold and elegant designs that were produced in the immediate post-war period by coachbuilders like Park Ward and Mulliner for well-heeled Bentley customers. Believed to be the only survivor of just two cars built to this particular design, the flowing lines are a foretaste of the iconic Continental Fastback to come, today regarded as one of the most beautiful cars ever built.
Finished in Shell Grey metallic over Masons Black with Red St James hide interior and woodwork in Macassar Ebony veneer this stunning example has a number of desirable factory fitted options, including steel sun roof and electric rear window blind, electric front windows, two cocktail cabinets and (working) original valve radio. Everything is superb condition, and it even has a complete set of small tools inside the glove box.
The subject of a comprehensive and sympathetic restoration in the 1980’s, the front suspension and steering were re-built in 1993. The car comes with a substantial history file and factory build sheet. Truly unique.
