Herbert Johnson Racing Helmet

Designed in the 1930s for pre-war racers and later made famous by the likes of Moss and Fangio, the Herbert Johnson racing helmet remains one of the most iconic of motor racing accessories, and today originals are sought-after collector's items. Employing the very same bucks and techniques used in making the original helmets, and still made by the original manufacturers Patey & Co. the ORC has re-introduced the 'Herby J' for use by enthusiasts in rallies and historic events*. Made to order each helmet is a bespoke item and takes 12 weeks to complete. The finish can be traditional gloss shellack or painted to a colour of your choice. An optional extra is the full visor with leather peak.

Available exclusively from the ORC. Prices start at £850. *NB This helmet is an accurate recreation of the original and therefore does not comply with modern race regulations.
