1952 Racing MG YB
A unique racing MG YB with impeccable racing credentials, continuous history and in remarkable time-warp condition. Eligible for FIA papers and a serious contender for future inclusion in the Goodwood Revival.
First owned by gentleman racer Dick Jacobs, Head of the MG competitions Team, garagista and author of An MG Expereince, UHK 111 was a highly successful race car virtually from day one. Bought by Jacobs, direct from the MG Factory, for his own well-known garage business, The Mill Garage, in North London, he raced the car to three successive wins in the Daily Express International Trophy Race Meeting for 1952, '53 and '54. A fact recorded with a some amusement on the plaques still attached to the dashboard.
He won in 1952, in some small part ably assisted by (Sir) Stirling Moss' who generously gestured to Jacobs to tuck himself behind, to gain a 'tow' in the slipsteam of the Moss's bigger and more powerful Jagaur Mark VII; a trick he employed in subsequent years whenever he could.
