Giacomo Bretzel
Welcome to the work of Giacomo Bretzel, a remarkable Italian photographer, who shoots classic cars with vintage cameras to recapture that unique style of the halcyon days of motoring and photography. Eschewing modern digital cameras in favour of 35mm, medium and even large format, Bretzel uses formats and techniques pioneered by his heroes Lartique and Cartier-Bresson, in the twenties and thirties.
Commissioned by Chopard to record the Mille Miglia - 'the most beautiful race in the world' - Bretzel exceeded all expectations by producing photographs that are simply timeless. These images are collected in his book Mille Miglia - A Journey in Photography available from the Old Racing Car Company, priced £30 plus p&p.
