Information
This LHD 1972 365 GTB/4 Ferrari Daytona has been rebuilt to 'Competizone' specification by its current owner. The restoration was carried out by Jorge Sica and the mechanical work completed by Martucci. This included repainting the car and finishing all body modifications in steel. The brakes were rebuilt as necessary using Performance Friction carbon brake pads making it possible to lock all four wheels under heavy braking, new tires fitted, and an oversized aluminum fuel tank installed with special pumps. The carburetors and starter were both rebuilt. New headlights were fitted, as were oversized wheels, tires, and new shock absorbers. A new rally-style dash was installed.
The engine bay is fully detailed to virtually show car standards. The inner panels have been smoothed and repainted, and the black crackle has been refinished on the heat shields, cam covers, and air cleaner housing.
Mechanically, the car is a very well sorted example. The engine is more powerful than standard, and a slightly larger stainless steel exhaust system has been fitted which amplifies that unique V12 Ferrari exhaust note. The transaxle is smooth and crisp in and out of each gate with a fantastic second gear syncro both when warm and cold.
Currently this car shows 39,496 KMS, beleived to be genuine and the fresh, tight feel and outstanding cosmetic condition could support this as actual mileage. However there is no substantial history to the car so that may have to be independently verified.
