1959 Jaguar XK150 DHC RHD
- Rare RHD Automatic (one of 30)
- Ground-Up Restoration
- Current owner 42 years
- 58,000 miles from new
This rare home market automatic Jaguar XK150 DHC is just one of 30 built, and has been in the same family for over 40 years, and still has only covered
58,000 miles from new.
A treasured family member, for many years this XK150 was the owner's daily driver, but in 1990 it was treated to a chassis-up restoration programme that was to eventually take a decade to complete. Everything was renewed, restored or overhauled. There is comprehensive video coverage of the rebuild, which was painstaking and meticulous and retained as much of the original as possible, with the only non-original items being the new 72-spoke chrome wire wheels, seat belts and radio/cassette player. Repainted Indigo Blue and retrimmed in Black leather, it has a new mohair hood and hood bag.
The engine has been uprated to 3.6 Litres with a modified head and re-bored block, but otherwise the car is to original specification.
With the restoration completed in 2000 this much-loved XK 150 DHC is still like new, with paint, chrome and trim all in excellent condition. Mechanically it is on the button, and still showing just 58,000 original miles from new.
